The lighthouse has been a beacon in the dark for centuries. Depending on where it was, whole families lived there to beat the loneliness and sometimes generations continued to man the houses. Prince Edward Island's shoreline is dotted with these iconic structures. Our shorelines are inviting to outings and our family was one of those who would take off on a Sunday afternoon to spend our time at the beach. Lighthouses were never far away.
