Following are the two tutorials I have on the web. There are a number of sites which have them listed and I will give you two addresses to find them if you wish. These tutorials have been well-received and it is so interesting when students have sent me an image of their finished product.

Currently I am teaching at Riverview Manor in Montague two afternoons a week. This is a project of the Department of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour of Prince Edward Island and is administered by the PEI Senior Citizens’ Federation. The most senior person I have taught so far is 99 years old. She hadn’t painted before and what a joy she was!
Many of the people I am teaching now never painted before, simply because their lives were too busy and they never had the chance. Now they are and it is so great to see the look on their faces as they look at the finished project.
Painting can be a wonderful experience and many people paint well into their most senior years. If you don’t think I am correct, just ask these ladies and gentlemen.

The Montague Branch of Senior's College for the spring starts on April 13th and I will be teaching acrylic painting. This is an eight week course with one class each week for three hours.

Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, painting can give you real sight and open up your visual world in a way you would never have realized. I will teach you rules to follow and give some demonstrations to show you how to paint certain techniques but your end product is up to you and you paint the subject you wish to paint.

Painting can be a very relaxing process and a wonderful way to express yourself. Having beginners and more skilled in the same class is like being in a support group. We all learn from each other because we constantly evolve.Senior’s College, a division of Lifelong Learning of UPEI, is ongoing for the winter semester. We meet every Tuesday morning for three hours at Plough the Waves in Wood Islands. Anyone over 50 can join. As long as you have brushes, canvas and artist acrylic paints and a want to create images, you may join us. Just follow the link provided and you can get all the information about this course.

The Southern Kings Art Council will be sponsoring a show and sale of artisan's works on Saturday, May05, 2010 at the Kaylee Hall, Pools'e Corner in Montague. It will be an all-day event and, like last year, there will be oodles of different items to purchase for that special someone, maybe even you!

We had a wonderful turn-out last year, both of artisans and the public to come and view the beautiful wares made here in our small but extremely talented province.

OLD SCHOOL GALLERY

Wood Islands will be the meeting place for a group of thirteen local artists to display and sell their works for months of July and August 2010. We have much talent in this area and decided it was time to show it off!

We will be open 7 days a week from 10:00 am til 5:00 pm.

This will be a working studio with at least two artists in attendance every day. Many days will have art demonstrations and possibly art lessons of different kinds.

Come see us and our works. We have items both large and small...acrylic, oil and water colour paintings, photography, prints, jewelry and much more!

We are located at 822 Trans Canada Highway, just 3 kms east of the ferry terminal in Wood Islands, PE. Just look for the old school with the date 1842 on the front.
